Welcome to the THIRD ANNIVERSARY episode of the Curve the Cube Podcast!! My special guest on this milestone of a day is author and entrepreneur, James Oliver, Jr. of WeMontage, who wrote a book that I absolutely fell in love with and have discussing in pieces with a few of my most recent guests. His book, The More You Hustle, the Luckier You Get, provides a deluge of raw, relatable trials and triumphs that all of us shooting for a dream can find both humor and comfort in. In this episode, James parses out the difference between being a successful entrepreneur and having a successful business, and we touch back on those concepts I discussed earlier in this series of episodes:
James doesn’t pull any punches and was simply the PERFECT pick to sum up some of the main touch points I’ve been covering all along on this show. So…. Enjoy!! And, thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening for these past three years; as you've heard me say on the last couple of episodes, my plan has been to flipping the name of the show from from “Curve the Cube: Where Dreamers Become Doers” to “Dreamers Become Doers: Curve the Cube and Do the Impossible.” But, after a very thoughtful conversation with my mentor, Glenn the Geek from the Horse Radio Network, there is an even BIGGER change that I now have planned for the show and hope you can all get behind. As the coincidence of good timing would have it, Glenn and I will be spending some time together this weekend. So, he’ll join me in recording a fully fleshed-out announcement and explanation of that change. So, be sure to look for that, as it could even be released ahead of the next scheduled release date for the show, which would normally be the first. Hey! Welcome to episode 121 of Curve the Cube where we talk to people walking the walk--those dreamers who've become doers--or, "curvists," as I like to call them, since they curve their way around those obstacles and figure out how to get stuff done. And, this episode features a lady who I am not only so happy, but also so proud to call a friend. Her name is Kate Volman, and if you are also a fan of my other podcast, Eggheads After Hours, then you have heard her voice before giving all kinds of fantastic tips, or "Business Bites," as she calls them, about how to propel your business forward. She is undeniably smart and strategic, AND she has figured out how to really craft her career with purpose. Kate's specialty is vlogging--a.k.a., “video blogging”--and using videos to create fantastic brand content, communicate with her followers, and create lasting relationships. If you have a blog, vlog, marketing team, or are just thinking, "What's the best way for me to get my message out there and build an online reputation?" Kate is for you!! Now, the Learning Curve segment at the end of this episode is going to be SUPER short, because Kate does such a fantastic job of digging in deep with her ideas and creating clear action items for you to take. So, I really don't have to do much. She makes my job so much easier, lol. So, let's get on with my talk with Kate Volman. You are going to gain so much valuable information and see pretty quickly why I adore her so. Enjoy!! I welcome to the podcast my fabulous friend and guest, Jules Pierre-Louis, co-founder of Hive Hub Media, host of the latest show to be added to the Flint Stone Media Podcast Network, Hustle All Day, and a multi-talented human. He is a true hustler, and on this episode we talk about when the switch flipped for him to break out on his own and what he did to break free. Then, I take the discussion to The Learning Curve on the flip side, of course. There's an added treat at the end of this episode; so, don't let it confuse you--haha. I'll be sharing a quick clip pulled from Hustle All Day, where I appear as a guest cohost to interview creator James Oliver, Jr. So, you'll hear us both again. Alright, you fearless curvist you... It's now time to sit back and relax and enjoy this convo with Jules Pierre-Louis about flipping the switch and breaking free. It's the 117th episode of the Curve the Cube Podcast!! Enjoy!!

Hi, guys!!! I'm so glad you guys are joining me for episode #115 of Curve the Cube where my guest is serial entrepreneur, Michael Hall of Digital Grassroots Innovation & Technology (D.G.I.T.) and Medium Four. Michael and I get into a LOT on this podcast: mental blocks, diversity, finding your target audience, and the concept of dying empty. He really gave me such good stuff to work with. But, I decided to take two things to The Learning Curve at the end of the episode:
There's tons to digest, guys; so, I tried keep my own updates in this intro as short as possible. But, yeah... I have a lot going on, too! SO... with all that said, sit back and relax with this, the 115th episode of the Curve the Cube podcast with Michael Hall. Enjoy!!

My guest in (yes, really the) 74th episode features my new “professional compass,” Jeremy Pound, the CEO of Juicy Results where I recently started as their Internet Marketing Coordinator. Juicy Results. Known as the “Internet marketing agency for the Fortune Five Million, Jeremy and his Juicy Results crew specialize in solid web design and maintenance, SEO, and social media marketing. In running his company, Jeremy maintains a keen focus on company culture, and has created one like I’ve never seen, including first-day champagne bottles, a four-legged receptionist named Jackson, and an emphasis on continuous learning. On my first day he introduced me to the Growth Mindset pioneer,
Carol Dweck, by listening to her appearance on Bryan Allen’s podcast. It was
astonishing to me how much I was able to connect with it, and I
highly recommend that all of you listen to that on your next
podcast binge. It’s a solid window into my “curvist” philosophy. Jeremy and I talk a lot about marketing and being an active business leader in our community, but also about his childhood creative endeavors, parental influences, and what he cringes at being called. (Spoiler alert: I TOTALLY call him it in the beginning. Ha!) Follow Jeremy Pound on: Twitter |

When Janice first moved to south Florida from New York, she was fully surprised to find that the natural hair movement making afros and dreadlocks a nondescript commonality in the Boroughs hadn’t yet found its footing down here. Janice sought to change that. Parlaying her talent for styling natural hair into independent shop ownership with such a bold initiative in mind was no easy course to navigate; but, such nonsense doesn’t stop Janice. In the podcast she discusses the challenges that came with being on her own and the moment she realized, though already on good footing, she had to listen to her gut and majorly shift course. She turned her whole game plan for her salon on its head (no pun intended) and now couldn’t be happier! Always purpose-seeking and driven, Janice Massey is a force to reckon with; she is an inspiration to small business owners and independent women alike! She not only now owns her own salon, but has also started a t-shirt line and sells consignments. This girl is unstoppable! This episode of Curve the Cube is sponsored by Sol Experiences—the Florida events company to enhance your SOLcial life! You can take The Pizza Girls out of New York, but you can't take the New York out of their pizza! Transplanted in the 90s, Jennifer and Phoebe promised West Palm the most authentically New York pizza experience. They soon realized their newfound love of Florida, and have been delivering on that promise ever since! Located on the end of Clematis Street, where the fountains meet the heart of downtown, the Pizza Girls restaurant has THRIVED!!! Along with their hard work and successes building a small business, the Girls have reaped the benefits of their location's rejuvenation and vibrancy. There is always something (or, oftentimes, several somethings) going on just steps from their doorway. And, their patrons LOVE it!! (Trust me: there is nothing better at an outdoor festival or on a party night than a slice of their Hawaiian, a personal fave.) Jennifer and Phoebe really opened up on this podcast, too. Not only do they offer stories that every business can relate to and gain from, but they also delve into some areas of their personal lives that I was so honored to hear about. So, sit back and enjoy this podcast. Like their pizza, the Girls offer up every ounce of realness that the New York in them can supply!! So, head to their website, www.PizzaGirls.com. You can literally click on their images to have them say “Hello”! Music Bed courtesy of DJ John Hitta!!!
